The first ever European Olympic Hopes Championships for the 19-22 aged boxers has been launched on December 11 in the city of Kaliningrad, Russia.

The opening ceremony with the laser show, chorus and young dancers performance, was attended by the Vice-Chairman of Kaliningrad region government, Mr. Alexey Silanov, and the 1st Vice-President of Russian Boxing Federation, Mr. Andrey Danko.

Following the recent resignation of Dr. Humbert Furgoni, AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu has appointed Mr. Franco Falicinelli as AIBA Vice President representing Europe and therefore EUBC President as per the approval of the AIBA Executive Committee.

"As I have full confidence in your leadership and in your long management experience of a boxing organization, I believe that AIBA and EUBC will receive a great and valuable contribution from you", stated Dr Wu in his congratulatory letter.
